They’re a Hoot! Owl Cookies!

I discovered this adorable owl cookie idea from In Katrina’s Kitchen earlier in the week and couldn’t wait  to try it out yesterday after school! I had been itching to be crafty since the first hint of fall blew past me a couple weeks ago! And, since I have decided that my new favorite things are decorative owls (Yes, I’m certain that was the band wagon passing by that I jumped upon, but its fun up here on it!), I couldn’t pass this one up. They are almost too cute to eat (but do eat them because they sure are yummy)! Here’s what happened when the guys and I gave it a shot of our own!

This is the final product. It is so easy, all you need is Chocolate Whoopie Pies, frosting, Oreos, M&M’s, Jr. Mints.

I used this Whoopie Pie Kit from Pillsbury.

It was nearly an impossibility to keep the hands of my children out these!

Here’s the Whoopie Pies before their transformation!

The Whoopie Pie Kit came with Vanilla frosting, which gave me a nice option to use both that and Chocolate on my owls.

My smallest guy loved it! My favorite part is seeing where he places everything!

This is Eli’s final owl.

This is Logan’s final owl. He very much likes to put his own spin on things. I love this about him. I think I may have even heard him say something about making a clone trooper instead…

Clone Trooper Owl?

We even took it upon ourselves to make a couple of Jack O’ Lanterns!

Thanks again for the fun idea, Katrina!

I had never noticed a kit before either! But, so glad I found them because they taste just like my own mini cake and that is fabulous! Thanks for the comment and for reading!
