Today is Monday, March 5. Not really a day for us that has a lot of special meaning. It’s the day before Chris’s birthday…but just the day before…so there’s not really anything birthday-ish going on for him just yet. But, guess what? We’ve gone and made it a special day and here’s why. Two reasons. 1. We made today into Logan’s half-birthday and 2. For the first time in my life, I brought in birthday treats for my son! Special. Day.
It’s close to half-birthday, anyway…we’re just five months and two days off. You see, his is July 3 and it’s March and not the third day (because that was Saturday). Nevertheless, it is close enough and I made him these Cupcake Mini-Donuts!
Using my Babycakes Mini Donut Maker, I decided it would be cute to make them look like cupcakes, but minus the larger size and maybe even some of the mess! Besides, when he asked me to please make cake pops for this special day, I had to respectfully decline, as I haven’t mastered that yet and didn’t want to goof it all up in front of his class.
Well, he was quite pleased (and for that, so was I!). Ms. Caceres made today like it was really, truly his birthday. He got to hold the musically-inclined plastic cake that, when everyone clapped, would sing the birthday song and then when everyone clapped again, it would stop.
As he helped me pass out the Cupcake Mini Donuts to all of his classmates, they were so well-received, I heard comments like, “This is the best donut I’ve ever had!” and “Thanks for this Logan, can I give you a hug?” and “I’ve never seen donuts with cake frosting before!”
As I was preparing to leave, a knelt down by Logan, gave him and squeeze and wished him a great rest of his day. Then I grinned really big and gave him a little wink and said, “Happy Birthday!” And he grinned back and laughed a little, and said, “Thanks!”
Happy Half Birthday Logan!!! Love u!
Happy 1/2 Birthday to Logan!! Sounds like you had some yummy treats!!!
