Photo of the Day Topic: 6 O’ Clock
6 O’ Clock
It was 5:55 yesterday evening. I was hustling around getting my things together for work. I knew that the photo of the day was 6 O’ Clock. All day I knew it, but the logic in my mind wouldn’t have me doing anything about it until that hour! Well, that hour was upon me and the only thing on my mind was getting out the door on time to go greet a Starbucks store who had been handed their rear-end all day (if you catch my drift – busy busy busy!).
I told Chris I thought I might just have to let it go and then he gave me one of his looks like I was crazy and how could I possibly not do the photo of the day? So, as not to be a let down, I looked around the kitchen, wondering what I could possibly put together to represent the hour at hand. I glanced up at the window ledge and noticed a small glass that we’ve been lately throwing our bottle caps into, before moving them down to the family room where we are collecting them in a larger vessel. A friend asked me not long ago what it was we planned on doing with them. We’ve been saving them for almost two summers now. Maybe so much any more its not what we plan on doing with them, but seeing how many we might actually be able to collect!
Well, I’ll tell you, last night they came in handy to make my own representation of a clock face, but I just needed something to work for the clock hands. As I scurried out to the front step to set it up, I asked Chris if he could come up with anything…and FAST!
I knew he would. He has yet to fail me on anything! He approached the front door, asking, “How about these?” And showed me a bottle of New Belgium Somersault for the long hand and a shorter bottle of Mike’s Hard Lemonade that someone left in our fridge a long time ago for the short hand. We both cringed at the idea of using anything but a beer bottle, particularly of New Belgium, but Chris was right, we needed a short hand!
Well, it worked and I think it came out rather clever!
I am especially excited for this weekend’s photo of the day topics as they have to do with “my view” and the” best part of the weekend!” Both of which will come from our Big Head Todd and the Monsters concert at Red Rocks Amphitheater tonight! Not to ruin the surprise, I guess, but maybe just to be sure you stop back by tomorrow to see what we see! In my opinion, Red Rocks is by far one of Colorado’s most noted bragging rights!
See you on the flip side!
