The Starbucks store that I work in is only a stone’s throw away from this little gem of an establishment. I see it several times each week and have done so for the last four years at least! But have I ever been inside this paint-it-yourself-ceramics studio before? No. I certainly see their customers coming in to my store for coffee either before or after a creation session. I know my mom has always wanted to do this activity of painting your own pottery with my boys for quite some time, but wanted to make sure they were old enough to enjoy it. Well, it turns out they are old enough right now! And they do enjoy it immensely! During a recent visit of Grandma Judy’s, we happened to be walking by Color Me Mine and decided to take a peek inside. It was so fun to be that spontaneous and decide to participate right then and there! Please enjoy the photos below that I captured during our time there!
I was so impressed with this place! I can’t wait to go back!
They have an abundance of supplies so that no one is left in need of anything!
Over 100 colors to choose from!
Each table has this cute water bowl in the center and a sponge to remedy mistakes.
Eli chose a small snowman Christmas Tree ornament.
Logan is working on a stocking ornament for his.
Eli was an empowered, big 3-year-old getting to chose the colors he wanted from a palate of what is available. Then, he was presented with his own palate to work from.
Same with Logan. He had his design scheme set in his mind from the get-go.
Eli took his work quite seriously. He was so intense in each thought-out brush stroke.
I decided I would have fun participating too! I chose this wee Christmas tree!
Don’t worry, despite his look of uncertainty, he is quite pleased with his final product before the firing in the kiln takes place.
So is Logan. Sweet and simple.
There were so many wonderful holiday designs to think about!
Just a few days later, the ornaments were ready to be picked up! What an amazing difference in each piece after the firing took place. So shiny!
Sweet!
Lovely!
Perfect!
Like I said, I can’t wait to go back! I found it was tons of fun and surprisingly relaxing! Thanks, Grandma Judy!
