Chris’s Fedora Hat
So here’s the thing. I do love my two new hats. I love them so much that I vowed to renew a trend in female hat-wearing (It’s slow-going). BUT, I do love just as much, if not more, Chris’s Fedora hat. I love when he wears it and it is super stylish and makes him look distinguished (but I’m sure he doesn’t need a hat to help him in that capacity!!)
I even looked up some history on the hat. Not his hat, silly! The Fedora hat!
Five things you may or may have not known about Fedora Hats…
1. The hat is generally worn by men and the term Fedora is usually generic, describing any men’s hat that does not already have another name.
2. The hat is typically creased lengthwise down the crown and pinched in the front on both sides, though the creasing does not define the hat.
3. The brim is usually around 2.5 inches wide, but may be wider.
4. The fedora originated as a female fashion piece. When the fedora became a male fashion item in the late 19th century, it was popular for its stylishness and its ability to protect the wearer’s head from the wind and weather.
5. The hat is sometimes associated with the era of Prohibition or Great Depression–Era gangsters and detectives. Film stars in the 1950s popularized the fedora in their movies.
Have you a Fedora Hat? You should! 🙂
