Photo A Day Challenge Topic: Art
I wonder how many things can be considered Art. If I only just consider the word, then I might be inclined to only conjure up images of framed work-that of paintings, drawings and photography. But couldn’t I also say that what may be considered art to one person, may not be to someone else? It’s like the saying, “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.” Maybe the same can be said for art.
This is why, yesterday, for the Photo A Day challenge, I was on the fence about what to use for most of the day! Chris suggested I take a picture of him grilling and call it, the art of grilling. This would be true. Grilling is an art, but the pictures were lack luster. That was when he reminded me of my birthday gift from our good friends. Fred-the face plate! I just named it that. I’m not sure if it is officially named that, but nevertheless, I ran with his idea and called it Food Art.
Fred wears tator tots, cherry tomatoes, green olives, watermelon and yellow peppers quite well, don’t you think?
Well, you can imagine how the boy’s interest in my playing with my food was sparked! They needed to do it, too! And, how could I tell them not to, when I was setting the example? Above, is Logan’s face creation.
And, this here, is Eli’s. And, believe it or not, creating these faces with their food, gave them great momentum in eating it! Go figure!
I suppose I need to still enforce that it shouldn’t be commonplace to play with their food. Even though it seemed to be successful all around!
