Have I mentioned what I’m doing three weeks from today? I don’t think I have. I know I haven’t on here…I’m not that tired! Ha! Do you want to guess what I’m doing? It involves me; an airplane; a suitcase; LAX; my sister…YES! I’m going to L.A. to visit my sister for a long weekend. AND, if you are a fanatic of The Hunger Games, like most of the people around these days, then you might be saying to yourself something like this: “Self? Isn’t three weeks from now the opening of The Hunger Games? The film that has been for so long in anxious anticipation?” This wonderment of your’s might be followed up with a second query sounding something like this, “Could Jen possibly be going to L.A. to see the film on opening night with her sister? No! It couldn’t be!?”
Well, YES, my friends! If you are experiencing these questions or similar ones, than you are spot on and a mighty good guesser to boot! (That’s right, I am aware that I just said, “to boot!”) I AM travelling to L.A. to watch The Hunger Games with my sister on opening night! Hooray! Did you need to see a photo of The Hunger Games film? I knew you did. So, here, I conjured this up off the magical internet (IMDb.com) It was my pleasure!
Anywho…ever since the very first announcement of the film’s making and it’s release date, my sister and I have been day dreaming about how delightful it would be for me to go visit her so we could see it together, since we are fellow uber fans (along with everyone else!). And so, plans became official last week that this event will certainly be taking place! Yay!
I have only been to visit her one other time since she has been a resident of California (three years now) and that was a good year-and-a-half-ago. Boy, did we have fun! We were tourists the whole time…we took the Hollywood Star Tour; did the walk of fame; visited the Kodak Theater, Grauman’s Chinese Theater and Warner Brothers Studios; we hiked to the Hollywood sign and even went through Madame Trusseau’s Wax Museum.
All of these memories are too much! I had to go back and grab a handful of pictures to share with you. Would you like to see them? They are pretty funny, if you’re up for it…especially the wax museum.
This is my sister, Erin. I love her. I think she’s so funny when she stands like this!
This was in Venice Beach…so beautiful! But cold in September!
This is actually in California! I occurs to me that there are really such beautiful places to visit right here in the U.S.! Maybe I don’t get out that much!
I had my first experience with Food Trucks while in L.A. last time…you better believe there will be more experiences with them had this time, too! (Oh, by the way, this is funny… I am wearing that exact same outfit right now as I write this! Ha!)
We visited Grauman’s Chinese Theater…
So much history!! And I thought I had big feet!
How lovely to get to pose with Marilyn Monroe outside the theater!
Inside Madame Trousseau’s Wax Museum, we were quite surprised by the figures and their likenesses!
It was so fun to participate with them…Lawrence of Arabia, right? Peter O’ Toole.
Paul Newman and Robert Redford let me out of jail! (wink wink!)
I don’t think Forrest minds…he seems like a giving kind of guy.
Looks like Erin befriended Robin Williams!
Oh yea, this food truck was so fun! I’m not sure the nice chef knew what to make of us girls being so excited for a plate of food! I think it made his day, however, and the food was scrumptious!
Ok, Hollywood, I’m coming back for another visit! Yahoo! Can’t wait to galavant around with my sister again!
P.S. Oh yea, and to see The Hunger Games! Big times await! 🙂
Yay!! Its going to be an absolutely awesome visit! It was fun to reminisce just now looking at all those photos. Can’t wait to make new memories.
I’m glad you liked seeing them! Yay!
