One of my most favorite things to do on a Saturday afternoon before I became a mother was to curl up on the couch and see what movies were on T.V. The channels I usually flipped to first were TBS or TNT – I always thought they aired the best ones. Well, that doesn’t exactly happen anymore, but it’s OK! It’s fun to reminisce and think about some of my favorites that I’d be lucky enough to catch.
For this week’s poll question, I decided to offer a collection of movies that have made their presence well-known on Saturday afternoon television many, many times. Now, please, I know there are so many to choose from and I could only keep my list limited to 10. So, would you do me a favor and if there is a movie that I missed that is screamingly obvious, or one that you wish you would have seen listed here, would you kindly leave it down there in the comment section? Let’s see if we can get a little conversation started here about our favorites! I know we’ve all got ’em. But in the mean time, please peruse the list that is below and feel free to cast your vote, as well!
“It’s not your fault…”
“Well, what if there is no tomorrow? There wasn’t one today.”
“You and I are such similar creatures, Vivian. We both screw people for money.”
“But I’d be proud to partake of your pecan pie.”
“You can’t handle the truth!”
“We’ve never lost an American in space, we’re sure as hell not gonna lose one on my watch!”
“Kiss me. Kiss me as if it were the last time.”
“Nine million terrorists in the world and I gotta kill one with feet smaller than my sister.”
“…As long as you hit that wire with the connecting hook at precisely 88 mph… the instant the lightning strikes the tower… everything will be fine.”
“Negative, Ghost Rider, the pattern is full.”
If you were flipping through the channels on a Saturday afternoon, which of the following movies would you stop on? Total Voters: 17
Breakfast Club? Men in Black? Airplane? Caddy Shack? Weird Science? Rudy? Oh wait, was I supposed to mention only one movie I thought should make the list? 🙂
Oh!! Caddy Shack was on my first list before I narrowed it down!! How about ghost busters? Lethal Weapon? And we love Men in Black…”Edgar, your skin is falling off your bones…”
I have to add Steel Magnolias a family all time favorite.
Ooh, yes! I loved that one too! Actually, that’s one of the few that I ever liked Julia Roberts in-that and Mystic Pizza. Not a huge fan of hers! Thanks for adding that one to the list!
