We received Logan’s first bought of homework today. It gets sent to us via email and we have to print it out ourselves due to budget cuts! Interesting! Anyway, I finally feel like I’m gaining a sense of control in this whole first grade business. It took almost two weeks to receive a newsletter and said homework from his teacher! Wow! But when I read that he will be given his first spelling test on Friday, my stomach did a leap! No longer are we in the sweet times of Kindergarten…now we have spelling tests. Not only is this work for Logan, but for the rest of us, as we want him to succeed and need to be diligent in helping him to prepare. Maybe seasoned moms of spelling test-takers would be having a delightful chuckle at my expense right now, but I’m certain all mom’s must have at least once been caught with a deer-in-the-head-lights look on their face when they found out their child would have his first spelling test. I would think so. I better get my homework helper hat on. Here we go! (I don’t really have a hat like that).
