Last week, my friend and I witnessed history being made and we didn’t even realize it! We happened to be walking by a group of fancy pants and television crews outside a schmancy town center and movie theater. We wondered what all the hullabaloo was about. We thought we even noticed a Santa in the mix. We were too far away to tell what was going on and at the time didn’t feel comfortable tip toeing up closer because we wouldn’t actually be inconspicuous. So, we let it go.

But then, the next morning in the newspaper, I saw a picture of the town center where we were the day before and an article telling about the brand new, first of it’s kind in Colorado Springs, Electric Vehicle Charging Station. What we witnessed was the unveiling of it! How do you like that? I’m pretty excited that the city in which I live is so on board with the green movement! Now we all just need to get electric vehicles!

Today I went back to get a closer look at this thing of the future. I don’t know too much about it and I won’t pretend that I do. But, I will say, this station is fun to look at and makes me feel like I am living in some kind of beginning stage of The Jetsons!! Maybe not…

I think it’s pretty fantastic! I can’t wait to actually see a car plugged into it! I wonder how long it takes to recharge? Is it free? Maybe some research is in order after all!
