Meet Francesco, the Holiday duck. We met Francesco about a year and a half ago while on a family vacation to San Diego. We spent one day of our vacation enjoying the San Diego Wild Animal Park, where most of the animals are free to roam around. Well, with that, we had this little duck that took a liking to us maybe just a little too much. He kept following us for quite some time – to Logan’s dismay. He was totally harmless, but since we are human and the duck is not, Logan thought the uncertainty of the duck’s motives was too much to bear. Well, we took this photo of our new duck friend to always remember him by.
Since we are the quirky folks that we are, (OK, mostly me, but my family loves me for it…) we cut out Francesco from the rest of the photo and taped him up on the fridge. We think it’s funny!
Francesco
Well, as the seasons began to change that next fall into winter, I decided that life for Francesco just wasn’t exciting enough and I gave him a Santa hat for Christmas.
And, if I did it for Christmas, well, why stop there? That lead us to Valentine’s Francesco!
And Easter Francesco!
And, now, Halloween Francesco!
All this is not my sly way of revealing to you that I’ve gone off the deep end and that is why I dress up a refrigerator photo of a duck for the holidays. I haven’t. I assure you. I just think, why not make things a little light-hearted and funny now and then? Something to bring a random smile to our faces! Oh, and the name, Francesco? Well, we think it has pizzazz! And, I’ve said it before, far be it for me to NOT give names and gender to inanimate objects. For an example, please refer to an earlier post Early Television Show Memories, Part 1 and read the part about The Cosby Show. You’ll see what I mean.
Now then, I wrote all this to coincide with this week’s poll question-What’s Posted on the Outside of your Fridge? While preparing Francesco’s ghost costume, it occured to me that people sure can store a lot of things on their fridge! And, it says a lot about a person, or family. I think its easy to forget how much is, in fact, on the fridge! So, please, if you haven’t cast your vote yet, you are more than welcome to now. The poll is right down there!

Thank you, sis!! I (heart) Francesco!
